Amberations

Offering a place to connect with nature, where exploration, contemplation and community thrive.

Everyone is welcome.

Amberations’ mission is to offer a place to connect with nature, where exploration, contemplation, and community thrive. We welcome everyone, regardless of age, physical ability, neurodiversity, race, ethnicity, or gender. We believe in the healing power of the natural environment at whatever level of involvement you choose—whether walking our fields, petting our livestock, or sitting by the creek listening to the frogs. Everyone is welcome.

Meet our animals!

We have a number of animals who live in our barn, including Big Joe our donkey and Maree, Mattie, Uncle Louie and Jam Jam our goats! They are on restricted diets to maintain their health, but visitors are welcome to bring carrots, apples, or celery to feed them as a special treat. (📸 Photo credit @kimdunn7.) We also have a lovely pond full of frogs and lots of wildlife.

“We love the idea behind Amberations; reconnecting the local residents with the outdoors. […] Many children today haven’t ever played in the woods, built a fort, played in the stream, or just taken a few seconds to truly enjoy the beauty that surrounds them.”

— Tyler Knapp and Stephanie Dexter, former Amberations Volunteers

Feel free to bring apples, carrots or celery to give our barnyard friends a special treat!
